Hello All, this is my second post.

Anyway, I have a downloaded copy of XP Professional, and I need to make it bootable, to get a dead computer running. The file I downloaded was a compressed copy of the CD, like if the host put the CD in the drive, selected everything on it, and went to Compress with [I think] winZIP. I unzipped the contents of the download, burned them to a CD, and deleted them. When I put the CD in the drive, it autoruns and loads up fine. When I put it in the dead computer, nothing happens. Normally, the recovery console would start up, and I could Re-format, re-cover, or anything else as I saw fit. Does anyone know how to make the CD do that?

Are you using nero ? Welcome by the way .

Is it an iso file ? There is some info here , pretty basic stuff . :)

Edit: This is better if you want to do it, might aswell make a slipstream one .

if you put it into your good computer, and reboot, does it form from the cd?
if not then there is something wrong with the cd, if it does then either the other computer's cd drive doesn't work or you need to set it to boot from the cd in the bios.
