What's a good safe chemical or method for removing permanent ink off a DVD? I have some small printer friendly labels I can use on them instead for more legibility. My handwriting is quite terrible when it comes to disks, so I'd be overjoyed if convert them in a safe manner.
Are we talking like removing sharpie ink? You can try using rubbing alcohol with a cotton pad.
Simon says don't write on them in the first place.

yeah try the above with cotten swab
Sulphuric acid or depleted ruanium.
I think an angle-grinder would be quickest, and most permanent too.
