View Full Version : Codec problem in Fraps?

I've just begun using Fraps, but I can't play any of the videos I've created. I get the windows message stating:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs
required to play the file could not be found.

I have the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.0, but I figured any codecs needed to play the .avi files it creates, would have been included with the software.

Ideas?
Suggestions?

is fraps free?

It can be. :shifty:

It's a good wayto take videos if you can get them to play.

Have you tried to use other player or open it in VirtualDub?
Also run gspot to see how this video is rendered at your sustem.

I haven't tried virtualDub but I did try Media Player Classic and VideoLan. I have also atempted to run GSpot as it comes with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, but it only gave me the container info and nothing else.

Well I figured I'd try VirtualDub just for the heck of it and it worked. I was able to open the video file and compress it into a DivX avi file that I can now view in WMP.

Thanks for the tip Syrup. ;)
