Graham Norton's okay, at least he was when he was on Channel 4 and did his show once a week not 5 times, although he's a bit to puffy for my liking.

Jon Culshaw (Deadringers) is very funny, although not really a stand up.

Jack Dee I suppose, I would say Peter Kay but there's only so many times you can laugh at garlic bread, he needs to write some new stuff :ermm: I like that bald irsh bloke as well, who used to introduce that stand up show on bbc2 which ran for about 12 weeks, Bill Bailey is teh funny also :01:

I resurrected this thread because it was here that i first really heard about dave chapelle and I've had a bit of a stand up fest recently, i've watched billy connelly, eddie izzard, eddie murphy, richard pryor, jack dee, bill bailey and dave chapelle.
Unfortunately Dave chapelle was the only one who sucked ass. I was watching the one where he's at Fillmore, I don't know if its representative of his other work, but it was boring, seriously i laughed twice and haven't watched the second half.
Has he done anything really funny, so i can restore my faith in recent american comedy?

Yeah you probably watched something of his that sucked ass. I (and many others) like Richard Pryor but was bored with Here and Now.

For Dave Chappelle, watch Killing Me Softly. He had another that was very good but I can't remember the name.

...and the obvious ones to check out are his two seasons of Chappelle's Show.:w00t: :w00t:

Actually that might have been the good one. The one that had the Monica Lewinsky jokes.

One of them was rather boring and I can't remember which one it was.

I've always really liked Steven Wright -- just so deadpan. and, though I'd say he's more an actor than a comedian at this point -- Bill Murray.
