discarded packets

im having a high number of discarded packets in azureus all of a sudden... when downloading a file, ive had discarded packets in downloads before but not substantial discards, so what is causing this i wonder ?

Bad connection. Yours or peer's you are downloading from. Azureus bans peers if it gets too much bad data from them, so don't worry.
