Yep, way to few details.

On a side note, I prefer AMD products over Pentiums typically. It's kinda like Ford vs Chevy. It's all about preference to many.

I havent looked at proccessors lately, but last I checked, AMD chips were alot cheaper than Intel's.

I think there should be more standardisation with the majority of hardware, finding out whats the best can be a nightmare for the average net users like meself, cpus should just be put in a class or even better colour coded with an idiot sheet for the likes of me :D

Yes, as stated, it depends on whatever your doing.

Heavy encoding/multi-tasking go with Intel.

Gaming/multi-task go with AMD.

As far as I know, Intels suck for everything.

Intel is always one step behind.

AMD is a smarter company - their instruction scheduler makes a slower amd perform better than a faster intel ( ie AMD 2.1 Ghz ~= P4 2.8 Ghz )

I'm on the AMD 3500 64 its a great system and it is the ultimate gaming system ..

Intel P4s have overheating problems

intel is better at office work and burning dvd's (things that really consume alot of power :P )
AMD is better @ games.......

the differences are minute however.......
if you want a good processor, get intel
if you dont wanna pay to much and still get a just as good processor, get AMD

Correct me if im wrong but don't games use up a lot of CPU power, also never had a DVD burn fail because of an AMD chip.
