For instance I make up my own acronyms when talking to less computer savvy friends. Just to make them feel even less techy-competent.
I imagine them using it later to someone else and confusing the feck out of them. :shifty:

unfortunately it has the opposite effect on my mates. If I unwittingly use any acronyms valid or otherwise i get the 'you sad bstard, what the feck you on about' response......or worse....I had been using 'lol' to reply to my mate's attempt at mirth for a few days...until I found out he thought it meant lots of love :ohmy: :pinch:

I tell people at work to use certain acronyms which will make them look cool to the hip young dudes on the interweb.
I suspect that might not always be the case, but hey ho.
