Why is it then when i'm downloading, it suddenly tells me that i have run out of disk space (showing up that disk cleanup dialog)....I go check my harkd disk space thru my computer => c drive => properties and it says i still have 14 gigs free!!!

what?!! the problem is that when that happens, the status of my file being downloaded is changed to "Failed", which means i have to start over again (but I make backups so that's ok) but each time i resume....it continues for a bit then the same thing happens?!

I have PLENTY of disk space left...what's wrong?

Thanks

You need to run a DISK CLEANUP and SCANDISK

The amount of free space reported by windows becomes ever-more-inaccurate (usually much higher than the ACTUAL amount) the longer you run Kazaa Lite++

Ok, I have 14GB free, defragmenting is not gonna help…now I can’t even save my word docs! When I save it says my disk is full, how do I fix this prob?

Out of memory means your internal memory (RAM), not your external memory (harddisk).

Try sotring out what you dont need running in the background
As Paul said its RAM
The error I am getting is "running low on disk space"
Thats because I have none.

you may have set your hard disk up wrong

I'm still trying to figure out why you listed "Out Of Memory", yet speak of out of disk space

Are you using XP, multiple partitions? Id so perhaps checking your Restore Point Storage use. XP reserves somewhere between 2 - 2.5GB on each for restore points.

Other than that if it relates directy to memory, perhaps you have a memory leak. Try a memory leak retriever, NitroRam comes to mind, not bad program.

His error message box is definately referring to hard disk space.

Try doing a virus scan. You could have a 'stealth virus' that will fool windows into incorrect disk space.

eh no i think its MEMORY (RAM)

when you are dling it does take ram... the ram is in a constant change.... i get that when im dling sometimes

whatz your ram!?!?!?

second use a virus scan... but i still stick w/ the theory of ram

If he is running XP then he needs to run 'Check Disk' (replacement for scandisk in XP).

But since we are not sure if it's a memory problem or a hard disk problem, we will have to wait for g3cK0 to get back to us to clarify this.

i'm using win98se and i'm pretty sure it's referring to my hard disk space (physical) because i have like 256mb ram and when that happens, i have no other programs runnign in the background...

It not a virus and it's not RAM! He said in the original post that he is getting out of disk space errors. READ PEOPLE!

And as someone mentioned already, you need to run scandisk.

Im guessing it could be a virus. I use to have that problem where the hard drive was saying there was more space left then there actually was. It wouldnt hurt to run a virus scanner!

Plus you sure there arent any paritions on the drive?
