I wanna start a poll, best guitar solo ever (prolly been done before but meh)

I just compared Skynyrds ,Freebird, Van Halens, Eruption and GnR's, Paradise city as my top 3, not for listening pleasure as such, but more for guitar genius and dexterity.

Want more to put as options please :)
Now think about this, I'm not talking tricked solo's, I mean good real dextrous solo's of pure genius and nothing less :)

Jonno

Seems to be an akward decision but I keep trying to think of a Rhoads piece that stans out...

I'll do the jokes, thanks.

There is a lot to chose from Jonno. Especially when you have lived as long as I have.

k, without plectrums, I'd say the opening solo of Stray Cat Strut pretty much sums it up for me. I think its Teh Solo.

It's some weird-ass jazzy shit that somehow just sounds cool to me.

Steve Vai and Joe Satriani should give you at least a couple more options. Can't think of a single best song off hand but most of their work is as good as it gets guitar-wise.

Or even the dreaded Yngwie...

Erm, yeah..........who said anything about fingerstyle?
Agreed tho, SCS is one of my all time favs, Stetzer got his own style thats for sure :)

@Rick......Yeah I thought about Surfing with the alien, prolly put that in, but personally I don't think it compares to my first 3, and to be honest I really think it comes down to Freebird and P/city, I mean you listen to lots of solo's, I mean Gary Moore is an awesome player but having listend to stuff and the way it's played, I dunno, p/City has some incredible passages in it that just tie so well together............tough one huh? :01:
