I'm not sure if this is hardware or software related but after installing my new G/Card when I playback video files with windows mplayer the picture looks blocky and I guess like a tv thats not tuned in correctly, any suggestions on settings to look at in mplayer?

Do you have other players instaled?,
if so, does this only happen in MPlayer?,
and again, if so, have you tried re-instaling it?

but thats just a thought,

Jiggle the antenna? sorry i'm stumped Yeah its got me beat aswell :D I may not have mentioned that I'm not trying to recieve a tv picture but playing back avi and mpeg2 files on mplayer, at the mo I'm trying to take a screen shot hoping that seeing what I see will give you more information but for some reason every time I takes a screener and then copy into, notepad, paint or even adobe cs2 the part of the screen showing the video is blacked out  any suggestions on how to get the screener to show?

do you also have this problem with media players that are known to be good software (as opposed to windows media player)? ive never used nero showtime, but i doubt it could beat bsplayer, media player classic or vlc

try one of these out, if you still have the problem its not the software, if you dont, its just more proof of how crappy wmp is.......... (and even if this doesnt help, i suggest you do switch media players)

Cheers for the input but I seemed to have solved it by turning down my graphics acceleration in display properties,I don't know why it works but it does
