Why do you think it will malfunction?

Is the Win XP real or a copy? I hope you format first.

Also your offering it with MSN, wow i havn't been able to find that anywhere, except MS's homepage up for download for free!

You can't sell it with any pirated programs install (Im looking at MS Office here) infact before selling you would have to completely wipe XP off and all the data and simply sell it with nothing on it and the retail XP Cd, as some people don't want XP on it, or want to use there own copy.

My parents have had there pc for over 6 years without a malfunction, unless your a complete fucking retard and like to play with a chainsaw and your motherboard its not going to malfunction for no reason. If it did malfunction it would be your fault somehow, and so would happen on your new computer anyway.

Yes, I know this stuff sounds ridiculous,
but here in Mexico, people know almost nothing about PCs,
they just know that music can be downloaded from the web,
or that DVDs can be copied, or that you can get an entire OS too,
but they don't know how to do it, (and I might add, this gives me the advantage
cus I an charge for music, software or movies),
so, when I say that it has ARES, or Messenger 7,
and simple thing like that, they know that the equipment is ready,
they don't have to ask or learn before they can dowload music,
or in some extreme cases, just chat,
the only thing they have to do, is get internet connection and thats it.

so, to simply put it,
the specs I posted before, sound ridiculus just for
a simple fact called 'cultural diference'.

+thats why Im here, on this forum, cus you know stuff, in fact most of what I know,
I've learned from you.

*for the record, not al Mexicans are as I say, but still most of us.

Intel Celeron D 2.5GHz = $77
HD: 80GB = $53
RAM: 128MB Assuming its DDR 333 (PC 2700) = $12
CD-R/DVD-R Combo (burns cd/dvd) = $70
Floppy = Meh probibly $10
Monitor 17” Assuming its CRT = $100

All that is around $322, but since its all used, it's worth pretty much half of that. So around $150. :lookaroun

I sold the last one for $350,
it was almost the same but without DVD-Rw,
and it was an AMD 1.7GHz.

well, now that I've been 'almost beaten to death' for being "an idiot"
and posting the "Dumbest thread, ever", I'll go to sleep. ... .

naaa, all in good fun,
thanks for the opinions everybody.

Either way i still think its pritty stupid to sell a perfectly fine 7 month old computer because it might break. It's just going to cost him alot more money, infact it might not even be worth trying to sell it as it should be worth more to him than people will offer, money wise.

People have been saying about $100, which in UK terms is £50, thats just shy of a new pc game, about half the price of an 200gb hard drive, at lkeast half the price of a 17inch flat monitor, about £10 more than a decent DVD Burner; if you get where im going. It's not really gonna be alot of money and might just be better idea to keep the current pc and upgrade it and replace the parts that are apparently going to fail in the near future for no apparent reason

That's interesting, but can the parts be purchased for those amounts in Mexico?
I would guess NOT.

$350 doesn't seem that out of line to me.
Good luck with the sale.

It does appear that a few people are having a bad day :P Though Im not sure why it would malfunction, unless you are just saying malfunction as a sort of a figure of speech. The price doesnt seem too far out of line, considering you are selling an entire setup that just needs to be plugged in, and away they go. I would low level the drive before you sell it tho, just to make sure all your stuff is gone.

nah, not too far at all, maybe a bit high, but not by much
AOL is offering a similar setup for $300 USD atm
(smaller HDD I believe, maybe 40 GB, but 256 MB RAM)
I just lost an upgrade job to someone thinking of getting that instead
but ffs, how can I tell em different?
was $150 for parts + labor,
or a new pc w/ monitor, printer, etc. for $300...
needless to say I'm out $150 :P

I see, our posts get deleted but his bashing stays?

"Sit Uboo, sit. Good boy." :dog:

But either anyways, he is selling it cause he is getting a new one. As it says in he initial post. Selling everything allows him to have more money, being able to buy better parts. ;)
