I thought that you could exclude these sorts of websites on Google Adsense using their tool for blocking sites......?!

no, we cant exclude all scams. thats why we added the 'never pay.... message' in the first place

ummmm.... but I suppose that if you notice a scam website that keeps appearing all the time, you could block it's source on the Adsense??

if I remember correct Brian told me some time ago that we already have a hugh blocklist.but the more we add the less we get per click. and there are new scam sites created everyday :frusty:

but who in his or her right sense of mind would click on ads that promote scam sites?
that way you lose out on the PPC anyway don't you..?


P.S: I clicked that ad just to be sure it WAS a scam site, and not a link to eMule or something (I've seen ads for them that give that sort of info).

It's been discussed before, but maybe you (well, Brian) could make the "never pay for filesharing" thing a bit bigger and in a different colour, to make it stand out more.

or pin a post that explains about these links on the adsense, and what to do about them.... (in fact, I've got nothing to do so I may even do it now......)

guests are prolly the majority of the google ad clicks. After all, they come here looking for FILESHARINGTALK, and what could be more enticing than downloading 19 billion songs all courtesy of google, after all, isnt google YOUR friend? :P :lookaroun

It's acold colour, which will fit onto blue which is also a cold colour :)

Well, OK then.... let's just hope people notice the notice (lol) and do not enter these goddamn scam sites.... it's sad really that people would do so (scam people)..

This was debated about for quite a while when the google ads first appeared.
The "Never Pay For Filesharing" was added as a compromise and its really the bset solution avalible. Aside form hunting down the dogs that set up the scam sites, all you can do is hope that people will heed the warning.

Hence the word random , IKE. :smartass:

I maintain my position on the fact the "never pay for filesharing" warning should be bigger.
No need to make it blink, no need to give it funky colours, just bigger.
And not hidden among the links to the other sites owned/operated by Brian, if possible.
