I've searched the software forums and found nothing on it so anyone have any solutions to this? I downloaded XPantispy but it doesn't work. Are there any other solutions?

There is a fix called Event ID 4226. It opens the connectons. Check here: http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=1497

Yes, you can modify your installation CD. I can't remember exactly all the steps but basicly... You take the modified tcp/ip and replace the one in the compressed cab file on the CD then reburn the CD (be sure to make it bootable). Then when you install the OS from that CD the fix will already be done.

Or you can just keep a copy of the modified tcp/ip file and replace it after each installation.

I d'l to a floppy but noticed the link is for ver.211a I have 212 ,wonder what the difference is ? Size is 31.5 kb verses 30.8 kb . :lookaroun

I opened the change log txt.

v2.12
• Feature: It's now possible to copy back the safety-copy
• Bug: Wrong versioninformations shown on Windows XP prior to SP2
(There is no repatching needed on already patched TCPIP.SYS's)

What ever that means ! :)

Does this happen to everyone with SP2?

I've been delaying my installation of SP2 b/c of all the bad things I hear.

No problems here, it all good, except for a warning in the system log ever now and then

For the last time.
UPGRADE!

This patch is not even needed on the newer P2P programs.
And it hardly makes any difference on the older programs.
