That price will fall quite rapidly. Early adopters always pay over the odds for the latest stuff and the retailers know it. Anyway the 360 will cost around $500 to produce so they will all be sold as a loss. All the profit from the console market comes from the games so the manufacturers won't give a stuff about making a loss on the actual console and use them as a loss leader to sell more games.

Same here , i should have gotten an X-box instead of NGC, i got it because of metroid prime, which was utterly dissapointing. i'll never buy a nintendo system for myself, ever again.

Everything you see, hear and read about all 3 consoles its fucking bullshit for the next few months.

jokes aside, if they do a short ship market scheme(ya know xbox went through it), everyone who "has" to have one will buy them up, while the rest of us wait for 2nd shipments and price drops :) either way microsoft wins.

Hmmm...I read that the Xbox 360 will be $299* and it will cost M$ $375 to make it. They lose $75 for every one sold.

I also read that the PS3 will be $399* at launch.
