Finaly, after talking of it for weeks if not monts,
I bought a new PC, but this time with an ATI (all'in'wonder 9600).
And, Ooh my... it's beautiful, sudently, the world of computers turned really
big for me (again), I can do, well, almos everything...
put VHS to PC (of course only Home Movies), watch and record TV to PC,
and one of the best things, for the first time I was able to play Halo, and it turns out that I liked it,
its as good as Half Life but better graphics...
damn Im still amaized, now I might be able to catch up with PC games.

but I have one question,
what´s the video format captured with ATI?,
cus it doesn´t seem to be vov, avi, or mpeg. it says 'ATI File Player'.

What's the video format captured with ATI?

Does the card come with some sort of recording utility? I have a 9800 and it didn't come with anything like that?

Have you recorded something? What program is it? What is the extension of the finished file?

It's not just a 9600, or a 9800 card, its an All in Wonder card... So it has a lot more of the inputs and outputs then a regular card, I know the Pro versions come with a nifty remote too, and they have a connecter for composite in for recording VHS to the computer and vice versa, and all that wonderful shit that seems usefull when your researching cards that you never even use when you get it. Or maybe thats what I did. But anyways, I think using there built in software you get to select in the options the encoding of the stuff you put in, you can record from the cable in on the card in a whole array of qualities, from crap to DVD, and it is .avi I believe, and you can transfer VHS to anything you set I belive, be it .avi or whatnot, just probe around the preferances, and options in the programs it gave you.

Yeah, I guess the All-In-Wonder would come with some of that stuff. But the latter part of my first post should still be answered.

To answer 'skizo´s' question,
actually it came with all that stuff, remote, two CDs, the adapters
and connections that Duffman mentioned, and a nice remote that seems very handy.
And yes, I´ve recorded both, from TV signal (from the card itself), and from
my SONY HandyCam and VHS too, but all of it just for testing, and I thought it
does it very good, I might even get Cable again.

and Duffman, good thing you mentioned it (about the included software),
one of the CDs is the 'Pinnacle Studio ATI Vertion', and I had almost forgot about it,
I'll get on it tomorow, Im shure it will answer many things.

Ok guys thanks.
