Future iPhone users could temporarily lose their iSight if they're caught filming at concerts or taking photos of museum exhibits. On June 2 the US Patent & Trademark Office
published a patent application from Apple that detailed a sophisticated infra-red camera capable of receiving instructions as to when and where the iPhone can snap pictures and record videos. Other features include applying watermarks automatically to images and an "Auto Tour Guide". Since the announcement was made, there has been speculation that the technology could be used by the police to prevent people from filming sensitive situations.
