• Waterfox 14 has landed!

After some delay, Waterfox 14 is finally available!

Waterfox is a high performance browser based on the Mozilla Firefox source code. Made specifically for 64-Bit systems, Waterfox has one thing in mind - speed.

    What's New in Waterfox 14?
    • Compiled with Profile-Guided Optimization
    • Working automatic updater
    • Digitally signed executables
    • Compiled with the following flags: /O3 /QaxAVX /arch:SSE3 /Qparallel /fp:precise /Oi- /w
    • A brand new installer
    • Support for Windows XP x64

Note: Uninstall older versions of Waterfox (prior to 14) before installing the latest.

There's another good optimized build for those without 64-bit processors. SSE2 support required.

Just a note for those trying Waterfox alongside Firefox. If un-installing and offered the option to remove settings do remember...

Waterfox shares the same profile data that Firefox does. Make sure not to tick the remove personal data box when uninstalling Waterfox.

WTF, Now a days why these software developers start the versions from 14.0 and proceed therefrom? jerks!

Obviously you're joking, but on a sidenote, it seems the trend nowadays is to use big version numbers to catch more attention or something. Firefox 14 and going up every couple of months, Chrome is on version 20 already.

In that regard, Opera for example did things correctly. Only three major versions in the last five years, and each one had significant breakthroughs in the interface, performance or functionality. Same with IE. But hey, it's just a version number.

A nice feature for those who have a 64 bit system that has been handicapped by using Windows.

(I'm sorry Bill, but installing Windows on a PC is like installing a chain and ball on both your legs).

((Actually, it doesn't matter how fast and powerful processors become, Windows always finds a way to bring it back down to Earth).

I as well have never heard of Waterfox. I think Firefox is fast already, and I will continue to stick with FF. The only thing that bugs me with FF is every time they patch or fix something it's suddenly a new damn version.

I just installed waterfox with some decent addons and im very impressed. I quit using firefox a long time ago and opted for chrome because the speed was vastly better but now waterfox is an excellent alternative
