• Beijing-bound flight from Malaysia missing

BEIJING — Fears were growing Saturday for the 239 people aboard a Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing that vanished over the South China Sea, possibly while in Vietnamese airspace.

International authorities in the region have launched a search-and-rescue mission but Malaysian officials said they could not confirm reports that the plane crashed into waters near Vietnam.

Malaysia Airlines CEO Ahmad Juahari Yahya said there was no indication that the pilots sent a distress signal. No wreckage has been spotted.

"We deeply regret that we have lost all contact with flight MH370 which departed Kuala Lumpur at 12:41 a.m. earlier this (Saturday) morning bound for Beijing," Yahya said in a statement released Friday night ET.

Not another software glitch, is it?

I am at a loss as to how this story fits in with the scope of this site, namely filesharing, unless that aircraft was home to some of the most prolific filesharers in history, and was downed by the CIA.

You wouldn't download a plane, would you?

While the news section here is de facto focused on filesharing and technology, there's no rule forbidding the posting of other news.

Yes, but the relevance is so insignificant, it beggars the question of why it was posted. After all, are we going to start seeing article after article of unrelated stories? Is FST going to become a mirror for the Huffington Post?

      I try not to.

On another note, there is a strong possibility that some of those passengers were file sharers, which would, indeed, make it a news worthy story.

Mind you, we have to question if any of the children that Jimmy Savile abused turned out to become filesharers as well.

And how many victims of serial killers would have become filesharers if their lives hadn't been cut short by some psychotic killer.

How many children die of abuse, starvation or indiscriminate bombings, that could have become filesharers.

In fact, there are billions of filesharers throughout this world, which would make it an up hill struggle for any authority to stop, except by global murder.
