EA Definitely Not Working on New Xbox

Electronic Arts have put paid to rumours which began to circulate over the weekend that they were currently using development kits from the next model Xbox: prototype kits "housed in PC units". EA have poured cold water on the story and the metaphorical development kits, calling it a "total fabrication" and "one hundred percent not true".

The rumour began with industry magazine Develop, who claimed that Electronic Arts had the new hardware "on desks". Their source claimed that an announcement regarding the successor would be unveiled at this year's E3, something that seems unlikely in the wake of EA's flat denial. Rumour continues to circulate about Microsoft's next console, with speculation as late as December that it would incorporate AMD Fusion technology.
