Strange audio sync problem?!
Pretty sure I'm in the right forum even though it sounds like a software prob to begin with.
Here's what happened, I d/l'ed Red Dragon(quality movie) from a public site and burned it to disc(dvd), then put it in my dvd player, the audio was at least 1.5 secs out of sync until the last 15mins when it seemed to fix itself.
Anyway, just before I chucked the disc in the bin I thought I'd try it again, bunged it in and it now works perfectly, no audio sync probs whatsoever!
My question is, what caused the audio sync problem the first time I ran the disc?
Was it the dvd player or the disc?
Hope it's my player, then I can justify buying one that plays divx's as well.:w00t:
Re: Strange audio sync problem?!
I was your player. Mine does that also from time to time. Mine does a pausing thing sometimes every 2 seconds, like..........pause.............pause. but the pauses are split second, just enough to be annoying. I have experienced the same thing you speak of, but my brothers plays them perfect, then I try again, and it plays just fine. go figure :) BTW, mine is a panasonic DVD-S25 if that matters.

Red Dragon(quality movie)
Aye
I find this happens to me when I have too many other apps in the background which causes a bit of out of sync audio, I shut down most stuff b4 encoding avi to dvd with enditall2 but not sure why it worked 2nd time:unsure:
Re: Strange audio sync problem?!
oh, I thought he meant a stand-alone player

Re: Strange audio sync problem?!
Yes, it is your player.
Get a Yamada DVX-6700 for about 40 quid.
Or a Yamada DVR-8400X for about £115 if you want a recorder. Careful you don't get the older DVR-8400 (no X), it doesn't play Divx.

Cheers Lynx, the Yamada DVX-6700 looks just what I want, but seeing as I've already got 2 dvd players it might be hard to justify getting another to the missus.
ps, do you know what "major" stores have got this player(don't like to shop online)?
Re: Strange audio sync problem?!
RGB Direct are a good online retailer. Most of my hardware comes from these guys. Fast shipping too.

Extremely handy for getting those Yamada players that they don't stock.
Try microdirect, you can buy over the phone if you don't like ordering online, the sales number is top left of the page.
Re: Strange audio sync problem?!
Well sorryyyyyyyyyyyy
They did stock them, I just didn't bother to check again
