Need some car and pc help
I just got a power inverter for my car. Its rated at 300 watts, with a max of I think 375.
I have a 500 watt power supply on my pc.That is up to 500 right? Or is it consistantly taking that much power?

I am using 282watts. I had to select GeForce 6800 when I only have a 6200 though.
With it just my bare parts:
Athlon XP 2600+
2x512 MB ram
No optical drive
1 harddrive
I am using 198watts. My monitor is around 50-53 (i think).
My question is, would it be safe to hook up my pc and monitor to the 300 watt inverter. Or would I need to get a 250watt psu?

I doubt you'll do any damage by trying. The inverter might trip or your car fuse might go if it can't handle it. But I do suggest you power up the pc and monitor seperately. Also, monitor the heat output of your inverter.

...and keep the engine running so the battery doesn't go flat in ten minutes ;)

The PSU wattage rating isn't the same as the power consumption of the PC.

Yea, i started it Sunday but I didnt have enough time to grab everything and put it in my car before work.
You do know there will be a Sunday next week to right? :P
