Radeon9550 vs GeForce 5200
I'm upgrading sons computer with one of these graphics cards, due to budget its all we can afford.
Which would you say is better.
I have the Radeon 9550 myself and its been fine, just the occasional problem with drivers.
I've got £40 to spend what shall I go for?
Re: Radeon9550 vs GeForce 5200
The GeForce FX5500 is the updated version of the 5200, you should be able to get the 256MB version of that for under £40. From what I've seen, I doubt that you will get a 256MB 9550 for that price, and may have trouble finding the 128MB version except in SE guise. You definitely do not want the SE version.
If you only need the 128MB version, you could even find a GeForce 6200 for under £40.
I suppose I'm saying go for a Nvidia card, you'll get more for your money at that level.

Cheers lynx didn't realise they'd dropped so much on the Nvidia side of things.

Things are a lot cheaper in the states.
In the end I got this

and a Sempron 3000+ for a total of £115(got £4 knocked off for cash :) )
Gonna save and get him a pci express graphics card later, the onboard graphics on this m/board is better than what hes got now.

The 5200 is a POS, dont even think of buying it.
