ive used torrents to download but looking for alternatives
1 ive used irc but can never find any good channels to get movies from (anyone help?)
2 not used dc ++ (if someone can give personal experience and whether you would reccomend it ? especially for movies) also any links for good sites for this
3 newsgroups ? how do these work? i need basics, how to join, what program to install, and where to find files to download..
any advise on any of these topics be much appreciated .. thanks

Without question Newsgroups are the best if you have access. Not all companys provide access though with their internet service. Many of the ones that do also have low retention giving you little time to grab. However depending on what company you have it may be enough. Of course you can always get a payserver like NewsHosting which has great retention and completion although youll have to pay. Newsgroups are the way to go,with the advent of nzb. files and the simple tutorials from the experts here you can't go wrong.The ease of use and the wealth of material it is the best.
but then again why pay ? thats the only thing i dun like about newsgroups
