For where?
home use.
They are the same, providing that they have the same connection speed.
I've used Bell ADSL, which goes through my phoneline, at 5mb/s, and I've used Cogeco cables, which goes through a cable modem at 5mb/s. When I tested these two service, I got the same results @ 5mb/s communication and 1 mb/s storage.
Yeah!!! There are homes all over the world. Big place. :frusty:Quote:

Also DSL is supposedly unaffected by how many users are on it in the same area. Cable is affected.
However, stuff like this has to go in a case by case basis.
My area's DSL is typically slower than cable. It's all up to what the ISP offers.
Really you should think of it this way as far as bandwidth capacity.
fiber > coax > copper.
Cable, as it's called, runs on coax. DSL runs on fiber OR copper.
I use DSL. There's a telephone switching building less than 2 blocks from me. :D Outperforms Cable in my situation, at lower cost.Quote:

Cable is normally faster than DSL. Consequently, Cable is more expensive (usually). However, DSL is known to be more stable than cable. :)
