but my question is does this even matter on a public tracker?
Am I recieving the same upload speeds as the leech with a shite ratio?

I'm sure you mean download speeds, and yes - you with your good ratio will get the same speeds as the leech who hits and runs.Quote:

manker is right, you aren't really gaining anything by seeding back. However you sound like exactly the type of user that private trackers want. Keep it up and try to get onto some private trackers, they generally have better speeds, respond to requests, and have more content.
Yep they're both right, look for a private tracker that suits your needs.
Okay one more n00b question about private trackers and ratios.
Lets say I have a GOOD ratio on privatetrackerA for example, will my good ratio follow me to privatetrackerB?
I guess what i'm asking is, as a bittorrent user, do I have 1 universal ratio used and updated by all trackers, or will i have a separate ratio on each tracker?
Any help will be appreciated.
No you don't your ratio is specific to each private tracker.
And as for keeping your share at 1:1 on public trackers you must be mad!! especially if your a member of any private ones. Dont waste your upload on public trackers, cap it down to a few Kbs and use the rest to share on your private sites. That way your getting your upload where you need it most and it's going to the most use. Don't waste it on the hit and runners on public sites, they ain't doing it for you so don't waste it on them.
I had no idea, i guess i thought your ratio followed you everywhere, so i was seeding a good amount on public trackers.
