How do I copy DVD-videos?
I just got Family Guy Season 1 and 2 from a friend, and I want to just copy them onto blank DVDs.
I think due to copyright protection, when I press DVD copy from Nero 6, it tells me that the DVD-video that I have in my drive is invalid.
So how would I get pass this so I can burn all 4 dvd-videos onto blank dvds?
Re: How do I copy DVD-videos?
Wait, before that my DVD-RW drive doesn't even recongnize the DVD-Vids. I've heard about different DVD regions, like region 6 for China and region 1 for North America or something. Could this be the reason why my DVD-RW drive can't recognize the discs?
EDIT: okay changed my region to the proper one, and now when I try to copy the DVD it tells me the disc is copyright protected and cannot be read.
It doesn't even work when I directly try to copy the files on the DVD onto my HD. I get this error message:

Any ideas? Help please!
I mean I can PLAY the disc fine in powerdvd, so I can read from the DVD. But how is it that I can't just copy the files onto my HD??!!1

Re: How do I copy DVD-videos?
You can also try DVDFab Decrypter when DVD Decrypter can't ripp a certain DVD. DVDFab is constantly updating their software.
Still, DVD Decrypter produces a nice DVD Image file, while DVDFab makes a folder full of .VOBs.
Personally, I use DVDFab due to having the latest protection recognition.

DVD Decrypter can produce folders with .VOBs or image files.
The latest protections can be solved with SlySoft AnyDVD.

AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.
