Question about seeders/leechers
If you are going to download a torrent file and you see that there are a couple of options as follows;
File A - 50 Seeders - 100 leechers
File B - 50 Seeders - 40 leechers
Which is the better option? With file A having more leechers does that decrease the bandwidth you can achieve or because of the nature of how BT works does it in fact give you more scope as to how much bandwidth there is available?

Re: Question about seeders/leechers
You can't tell until you have tried both torrents out.
Either one can have an amazing uploader......
Re: Question about seeders/leechers
file b would be the best to get
theres 100 ppl getting file a, and 40 getting file b, meaning file b will have more available bandwidth available to u.

Assuming all else being equal.
But what if all the seeders on file b are on 56k connections and all of the seeders on file a are on T1 connections.......
Re: Question about seeders/leechers
well unfortunately theres no way to tell that is there?
as a general rule, what i said is true.

Re: Question about seeders/leechers
there is one smart way to go about this.. there is a thing known as average completion of swarms. When you d/l the torrent A look at the avg. completion stat.. if it anything above 50% go for it... cause you'll end up finishing faster that way.. hope that helps!
cheers!
Re: Question about seeders/leechers
Also, if you go for the one with the greatest number of leechers, you will find it easier to keep your ratio up. :)

Re: Question about seeders/leechers
Which file would be better to d/l......
A: 0 Leechers, 1 Seeder
B: 1 Leecher, 0 Seeders
I'm a newbie to all of this and don't know what a seeder or a leecher is.
Thx
Oh yeah... and,
File C: 0 Peers, 0 Leechers, 1 Seeder
