I'm on my last warning and i'm a bit worried that I'd get an RIAA notice. I googled for anyone getting sued from private trackers, but I've yet to find one. Does anyone know if anyone has been sued so far through a private tracker?

Your last warning from who?
The university
Sod the RIAA, do you wanna get done by your uni?
You'll end up with no internet if you keep going.
I would be more concerned with my education, than downloading. what are the warnings for? what are the consequences?
do you mean that the university has caught you using up bandwidth on torrents, or that the RIAA or some similar group contacted the college ISP and reported you? if it's the first, using private trackers won't help you.
I got warnings from the BSA and MPAA
Compaired to the number of Cease and Desist Notices the riaa/mpaa sends out, being sued is rare. But it does happen, even on private sites.
Because of the shear number of people involved, every one being a potential nark, it is bound to happen.
Torrents are not very safe. It maybe in you best intrest to try other things with less risk.
I was warned 5 years ago by mpaa them days i was just learning and only new about public trackers since then i have changed to private and not herd a thing
in ur situation its probably best to sign up for a newsgroup service
if u really dont want to pay for that, and want to risk ur education, then quit using public trackers.
use private trackers, smaller user-base the better.
and run peerguardian2, always. never download a single torrent without it.
even doing that, ur still taking a risk.
