Re: Windows XP Pro 64 bit
if you already did some research about winxp pro 64 bit, you already knew the advantage as well as disadvange of it. If you are not a professional user, i dont recommand you use it as the main window. You can keep dual boot as you said above for testing or just playing that much better.
Window 64 bit supports almost 32 bit software, so even Adobe Premiere Pro 2 is 32 or 64 bit, doesn't matter at all. I'am using xp 64 bit with 32 bit applications, it works so smooth for me.
For comp with 64 bit capability, Vista of course!
Re: Windows XP Pro 64 bit
just wanted to add thing , some application doesn't work on 64Bit even though u can install it without any problem but u cant really run it after install
so if u gonna use windows 64 Bit u might take this in ur mind , so the best solution is dual boot
Re: Windows XP Pro 64 bit
I ran 64-bit Pro exclusively for a few months and finally went back to standard ole 32 bit.
Too much trouble having to pay attention/search for the correct drivers and some apps just refused to run, no matter what.
Absent a compelling reason to use it, I wouldn't bother.
Re: Windows XP Pro 64 bit
Yeah, I agree; installing 64 bit XP will most like prove frustrating.
I'll just have to wait out the software industry to start making more 64 bit apps available
The only thing comparable is some software like Ulead's VideoStudio 10 is optimizing for duel core 2, but I guess they'd have to re-write from scratch to support 64 bit.
Re: Windows XP Pro 64 bit
I've tried the 64 bit XP but found too many incompatible programs and becomes too much of a pain to make all my stuff work. I also don't see any performance benefits.
If you're looking for some adventure then I recommend you look into Windows Vista.
Re: Windows XP Pro 64 bit
Found a story here about Memory and 64 bit , wonder if its the old " Gamers" will want it first issue ?
