Seriously Frustrating Problem
Yesturday I was compressing stuff on my hard drive to save space, and my computer shut down completly in the middle of it. I restarted and continued and it was fine. Today I was unraring some stuff and it did it again. I restarted, tried unraring again, and it did it again. So I was thinking that mabey I should defragment my drive, and it shut down again. What is going on?
Re: Seriously Fustrating Problem
Does it shut off when you play games for instance, or run any other cpu intensive applications?
Re: Seriously Fustrating Problem
I don't play games on the computer, and I really don't run any cpu intensive applications. This just started happening, so I dunno.
Re: Seriously Fustrating Problem
Check your temps under load.
Also turn off the 'Automatic shutdown' feature. In the Systems Properties click on Advanced tab>Startup and recovery settings. Remove the checkmark from [ ] Automatically restart. Click ok and ok.
Btw. It's a Seriously Frustrating Problem.

Compressing the drive and raring are VERY cpu intensive operations...
Re: Seriously Frustrating Problem
Compressing/RARing the drive is a silly way to "save space".
Either burn off excess files to disks or just add a second storage drive.
