Apple Releasing a Windows Browser
" Apple said Monday that it would make its Safari Web browser available for Windows-based PCs, opening a new front in its rivalry with Microsoft.
The announcement came at the end of a presentation made by Steven P. Jobs, Apple’s co-founder and chief executive, at the company’s annual World Wide Developers Conference. It indicates that Apple is increasingly confident in its ability to compete against Microsoft’s desktop computing monopoly. "

Hmmm, yeah my itunes is a bit twitchy, but checkout the download link.
It claims to be the fastest compared to Opera, IE and FireFox for HTML, Java and App. launch.
Re: Apple Releasing a Windows Browser
Looks pretty strange but seems fast at first glance . Man I hate Quick Time , have yet to see an ad tho and imported my Fox bookmarks no problem .
I'm wondering about plugins , if I'll need any ?

Re: Apple Releasing a Windows Browser
I think it looks very cool. And according to Apple, Safari is the fastest web browser on any platform. So if it works out I'll defiantly make the switch. :D
Re: Apple Releasing a Windows Browser
yea i'm not too sure how I feel about this, and this is coming from a mac user. I mean I don't really see where they are going with this, from a business perspective how does gaining market share in the browser market help? the only thing that comes to mind is that this will somehow tie into the iphone, similar to how itunes made the ipod on windows possible.
regardless, safari is an awesome browser on the mac, and this new version seems even faster at rendering pages. I can't, however, speak for its windows counter-part but have heard it can be somewhat of a resource hog when it comes to ram.. so we will see what happens i guess.
Re: Apple Releasing a Windows Browser
So far it is a pretty browser. One thing I need to switch is to have User Profiles. If anyone knows how to set that up please tell me. I want it so my friend can have his own bookmarks, and his own home page, and I can have my own.
