right..... i got a new laptop running on XP and my pc which is running on NT.

My pc is connected to the internet, but my laptop isnt, its connected by lan kit to my pc.

When I create a new multiplayer game on any machine, i want to join that game off the other machine but it doesnt show up on LAN games!!! i know that the both comps connect as it says on the desktop (lan connected).

Which setting do i hav 2 do wen making a new game?? which boxes do i tick?? dedicated server? gamespy? etc....

PLZ help, its doing my head in!!! :( :( :( :( :( :( :unsure: :( :(

try entering the ip you dedicated for the laptop into the pc under direct connect or whatever in the game and see if it registers

nop, it just says server connection timed out.

also tried turning the firewalls off!

ok, ok, calm down

can you exchange files between the laptop and the pc?
you say that on the desktop it's saying lan connected, but have you sent files across?

edit: can you play any other lan games on your setup or have you only tried this one?

here is a ddl for a patch for the demo. it doesn't appear to have anything to do with your problem, however, it may be worth downloading anyway

i was being incredibly stupid, even more so than usual

the only thing i can blame it on is that i'm very tired
