Minefield (Firefox x64) does not want to load on XP x64!

On two separate installations, I could not get the latest version of Minefield to start correctly using XP Pro x64. After double clicking the shortcut - twice - an error message pops up, containing the following message:
"C:\Program Files\Minefield\firefox.exe
The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"
Reinsallation did not fix the problem. Has any one else had similar troubles? Why is this happening?
