Re: Torrent Client Advice
It's the one supplied by Virgin, changed a wee while back.
Some generic piece of pish with ntl 250 written on it.
Re: Torrent Client Advice
It happened to me a lot.
It seemed that the modem got bottlenecked at certain times of the day.
In the morning, I'd be getting like 400kbs down regular. Which is spunkable for me. But in the evening, I'd be getting 20kbs which sucks testicles.
You BT modem gets zapped to fuck at high usage points in the day. So you may be paying for 8 megs or whaterfer, but at certain times of the day, you're getting fuck all like that.
Kill your neighbours seems like the only practical solution.

I really do hate you sometimes.
EDIT - You said that in the voice of JD from scrubs btw.
Re: Torrent Client Advice
never had any problems with it though, but i live in the middle of fucking nowhere and my neighbours are frail and smelly. also i recently plugged said modem into a linksys wireless bb router and still its fine. i use ktorrent, though it works just as well in windows with any client of the windows variety
Re: Torrent Client Advice
My modem's loiyke 7 years old, I got it off tellywest when I first got brodband internets:no:
Re: Torrent Client Advice
I've cut the global connections etc way down. It's now downloading a lot slower, about 300kB/s but hopefully the modem will be able to cope.
Like I said, with Usenet it can be 4 times that and it doesn't cause a problem.
