How can I perform speedtest on a seedbox installed with CentOS but without GUI

*shrugs* i always try speed tests from topsites.
is there any local ftp servers close to the server you can fxp a file to?
I don't know the local ftp server there, it's located in US though
try downloading something from a big name site as a speed test. something at least 100megs in size over http. it will not be super accurate but it will work. try dling something from apple.com or microsoft.com or cnet.com or ... one of the big name sites with backbone lines like google, except you can't dl anything big from google i think.
I got it, and how to do an upload test ?
you'll need an ftp. if the line is duplex unshared down and up should be close to the exact same speed
so how do I read the upload speed ? as I upload a file using ftp command in CentOS it doesn't display any upload speed
bump :)
It's not so hard to install vnc, firefox & flash to do a proper speedtest. PM me if you want help doing this.
take a screen of rtorrent uploading @12mbytes/sec... that's it enough... :P
