Hey i just bought some 256MB PC133 ram....i have PC100 slots but i know its compatible...The brand is ULTRA and when i put it in like it only says its like 32 mb...and then it wont start windows and crap...plz help me!

Is this 256 mem stick in addition to memory already there?
My Dad had a problem trying to add more memory to his POS Compaq. Finally, it turns out that both sticks had to be the same speed (pc 133 or 100) and his mobo would only support 384MB of Ram anyway.
I am hardly an expert on computer hardware so, with luck, someone more knowlegable will come along.
thanx for the advice...i hope that aint true though lol and im sure it can hold 512MB...im just hoping they dont have to be the same speed...

It may be that u have a problem w/ the ram... 2 months ago I bought a 512 module and it worked fine.. but there was something wrong about it.. From time to time the pc used to hang up....
ok well its on sale for 30 bux...including shipping lol...so now i got to buy 2!!! two of them! so it counts for birthday...lol
