AMD Overdrive
Hello, im looking to overclock my CPU its AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ at the mo its doing 3.2Ghz and i wanna see if i can make it go faster. Ive heard that the programme AMD Overdrive will do this for me. Ive heard people going into the bios and doing it that way but im new to OC. Has anyone else used this software? If so was it any good and where did you get it from?

Re: AMD Overdrive
You're best off doing it the right way in the bios instead of soft overclocking. Check out http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/ I got a lot of help there when I was a newbie, good place really.

Re: AMD Overdrive
the direct link for the .msi is http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...2.0.14Beta.msi which doesn't need any unraring or anything; but that program's for a specific CPU only... overclocking through the BIOS is quite tricky, you need to change voltages and frequency speeds, and it depends on which motherboard you have if you're able to actually make any changes at all.
do you know which motherboard you have?
have a look at this AMD overclocking guide, it should help you get started :)
edit: forgot the link!
