Can anyone help me, I have asked a couple of times previous but the thread seems to go off topic.
When I convert from DivX to mpeg, the sound goes terribly out of sync. I have tried using Virtualdub to extract audio to .wav first then use TMPGenc to convert vid/audio from there but still no joy.
If anyone offers help, please keep it in laymans terms as I am very newish to this and easily baffled.

Try this it seems to fix most problems
In TMPGEnc
Goto OPTIONS > ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS > VFAPI PLUG-IN and set DIRECTSHOW MULTIMEDIA FILE READER to a HIGHER PRIORTY(right click on it) of 1 or 2
