I noticed when not logged in I cannot see Avatars and Sigs.
If this is intentional, its a good idea to take some of the load off.

That's the way it is supposed to be.
Why would this affect the load on the servers? It is my perhaps incorrect assumption that in fact, the two events (server load balancing, image parsing) have almost no correlation to one another.
jeez I was wondering why i thougth no one wanted any avartars and sigs anymore

well, it'll make a very slight difference, as the board software will not have to query the addresses for each member's avatar/sig content and thus reduce the number of queries required, but afaik it wouldn't make a noticeable difference really.
