Any tips, suggestions, things I should keep in mind? Recommendations for places to go? Ill be traveling through London, Manchester, Paris, Belgium and Amsterdam.

Forget manchester and belgium
take a raincoat...
go for the southern europe, it's so easy to find your dreamplace there.
remember: french and spanish people don't speak any other language besides theirs.
portuguese, italian, german, dutch, most eastern europe countries, slavian countries, at all of them it's very easy to find english speaking people.

Stay at the Oops hostel in paris. the other one i stayed in gave people bed bugs... (this was two months ago)
how about keeping a blog with daily photos to keep all your friends updated at once, saving on personal emails and phonecalls. this way you also have a journal to go through when you get back and miss being abroad.
