& how do you calculate it?

Make a triangle

34 x 5 x N

Calculate N

Done

Or a measuring tape, that would work as well.

Make a right-angled triangle at either end.

(80-70)/2 = 5.

Use Pythagoras Theorem.

34 squared = 5 squared + X squared

1156 -25 = X squared

X = square root of 1131

X = 33.63 cm
