once the bot says its sending the file the download window comes up but nothing happens. it sits there not downloading for about 2 minutes then it says connection failed. its a pain in the ass after you've been qued for almost 2 days. any help is appreciated.

nothing can be done about that. that means the bot is messed up and the op's or person running the bot hasn't fixed it. you'll have to get the file elsewhere or tell the op's who most of the time no this stuff and sit on their butts doing nothing. they may give you a link to there ftp or put the pack on a working bot. maybe.

ok thanks, just wanted to make sure it wasnt me. one other thing.. sometimes when i try to connect to servers they tell me i need to have identd installed. any help on that? Thanks.

that's in the options settings. i can give you specifics in about 10 minutes when i leave campus and get home but if you look through all the options settings you'll find how to turn that on.

hmm cant seem to find it.. its in help but it doesnt tell you where to change it. anyone?

ok i found it and enabled it.. but i still get the same problem..

dcc > options > connect > Ident then just click the "Enable Ident server".

then that means the server itself has a problem. trying to get on later does the trick for the server or room.

ok this is weird.. im pretty sure i have everything set up right.. but everything i try to download just fails.. ive tried files from about 25 rooms.. all on different servers and from different bots.. anyone have any idea what i should do?

grrr.. i guess u gotta have broadband to really enjoy it.. but its such a hassle for me to find a file that works. actually with this problem, its not a hassle, its impossible.
