Hey guys,

I can give you newsgroups for free. It means no uploading and full downloading with about the same pretimes as in torrents. It is very easy and I will go over it step by step if necessary. In return I would like an invite to a level 5 or up tracker.

because newsgroups does not offer everything regarding music, especially the genres I like. They offer a lot but sometimes something is too difficult to find. Though I can manage with newsgroups very well, sometimes doing torrents is fun. And I want to share the luck I had with the servers with other people, as long as they are fair and honest to me!

I mean FREE in the sense of you do not need to pay for a newsserver...

Differences:

newsgroups uses a .nzb file where torrents use .torrent files

the files of torrents are grasped from torrent sites either private or public whereas the .nzb files are grasped from database websites who just keep all the files

a user uploads a torrent and if there are no uploaders the torrent dies. In newsgroups somebody posts (uploads) a movie or something on some kind of server (NEWSGROUP) like alt.binaries.dvd etc. and the post is kept there.

Torrents can be downloaded for over years as long as there are seeders. .nzb files can be downloaded also over years but the newsserver with which you download the file differ. Some have a retention of 90 days, others of 120, and others of 200. The one I am offering has a retention of 120 days.

One big remark is that in newsgroups you only DOWNLOAD, you do NOT UPLOAD, at least it is not necessary, there is no ratio thing or something going on.

It is a specific example to a general problem. Newsgroups does not have everything. So yes in the example you are right, none of the level 5 trackers has music on it or is specified in music. But the music served only as an illustration to a broader problem of newsgroups.
