AstraWeb Hiccups Aug04-09

Others (most?) may not have noticed, but the primary AstraWeb server took a major dump yesterday - I noticed because I was trying to update some headers (timeouts), while trying to d/l files (major errors).

They posted a notice to members today, saying they hoped to have the problems rectified by late today.

Meanwhile, I switched over to their Euro server, and have had no problems with it.

Goes to prove **** happens.

Eh, I just had trouble yesterday entering one "group" and searching was way behind.

Yep, but of course it was on the very groups I was trying to get the headers and d/l from, right? After about 15-20 min., I gave up, and tried another d/l (different group), and off it took, no problems whatsoever.

Again, figures that the fault was right in the area I was trying to 'work' with!
