In the process of beefing up an 'old' win 98 (SE) machine and need new drivers for the soundcard; only problem is: which soundcard is it ?
Anyone know how to see exactly what soundcard is being used without fiddling with bolts and elektroshocks ?

you can download and run Belarc Advisor to get a generated HTML report of the
hardware & software currently installed on your PC.
You can also find out what the sound card is by right-clicking My Computer, Properties, Device Manager, expand the
Sound, Video, & Game Controllers section.
if that dont work just run the direct x diagnostic it tells you all you need to know about your system :D
