i'm so happy
now, should i keep going?
i have p4 2.4 ghz 800fsb
and 865ape
should i keep going? in my bios, it says the highest is 233, but some people with 2.4's go up to 266. wats up with that?
-
anyone feel like directing me towards the rite path? should i oc some more? and y my bios says max 233
-
If you go to far you'll fry either & or your mobo & CPU. You decide. ;)
-
many people with my cpu (2.4c) has oced it to at least 3ghz on stock cooling
and rite now, my temp is still 37deg C idle. when i play academy, it's actually lower than before, only 48 when it used to be around 50

I take it those Intel Chipsets lock the multipliers on their motherboards?
Stupid Intel, Im glad AMD doesnt have any of the other chipset companies do that, sigh.
Isnt there a way to unlock the multiplier on the boards anyway? Surely there has to be a way.

Personally i only overclock when i can't meet any more systemrequirements for games

i have a horrible 3dmark score of like 1289 somethng like that!! it sucks. adn i have a gforce fx 5200, i'd expect a bit better than that. read overclockers.com and go to forums, and there's at least 50+ people who have a 2.4c and oced it to at least 3.0 or higher
-
I bet if you put it back to stock settings your 3dmark score will be closer to 5000.

Your agp and pci speeds are out of spec, and that is screwing them up.
You need to lock the agp speed to 66MHz (which will lock the pci speed too), but I can't guarantee that it is possible with your motherboard, or what the actual terminology used is going to be.
There is another thread here about this very subject.
