Still using Utorrent 1.7.7 - Questions

I haven't really gave it much thought on getting a newer version as this has been the most stable for me, but I have noticed that there are very few that still use this version.

I have to assume that any newer version is stable as well, and that most trackers accept almost any version of utorrent.

I guess my main question is does the IP filter still work with the newer versions, and if so do you still have to download the IP filter file every so often? I know I am out of the loop on this as I have stuck with 1.7.7 for some time now without even considering a change.

I think it is time to move on;)
