Does anyone have any opinion's on Bonfire night & the misery it causes to all, except the morons blowing up telephone boxes,Approx 4 telephone boxes have been blown up in York 1 in Barnsley.Should there be Community Bonfires restricting sales to council's & stop kid's under the age of 16 getting hold of these so called fireworks.

It's a bit of a con these days. Why pay 5 quid to stand in a field and watch fireworks when you can stand just outside the field and see the same stuff? Also theirs those pesky kids who feel the need to blow up dog shit bins and various other things.
...It's all a waste of time and money.

Too True E,but we all have the same conversation evry year & kids blowing up stuff or themselves & what does the government do nothing, selling to kids under 18 the shops who does this don't care about safety or or animals as long as there is profit in it for them.

jees, its great, all the fireworks and stuff, dont knock a good thing :P
-
It is not only the noise and destruction, it is also the harm done to pets and other animals. There is also the long term cost to the Government. I knew a fellow who was lighting a 'Banger' 30 years ago. It said light the blue touch paper and retire immediately. The lazy bastard has not worked since.

I used to think that was one of the nicest areas in Britain, with all the really large old trees and parklands etc. But I am talking about 1958.
