Ways To Catch Pedophiles

I read a news article recent that P2P is mainly used for Child Porn when it comes down to what porn is coming in and out of the networks.

I had a discussion on PG website about this.

P2P Networks are getting ALOT of stick for this...breeding pedos basiclly sums it up......we are sharing networks with these animals.
I reckon this is some of the main reasons why the authorities are so against p2p..not just the music and videos but mainly the Child porn.

I think someone should think of ways to make software implemented into k-lite in the future that can log, catch DO SOMETHING to find the IP's of these individuals.

I am well-up on Internet Securirty....thats what I am good at when it comes to IT...unfortunalty I can not program....otherwise I would do summut by now.

I think we should think about making summut tho' it woul make our networks a much safer and fun place to be at, while also keeping the autorities happy.
I know full-well that if we could do this it would look super for K-Lite and p2p in genral.

This could only be accessed by a few [The K-Lite makers].
Each version of k-lite would have this in it...and the keylogger would send the logs out to the admin....he could than look at it for these offensive words, or make the program in such a way that it sends the offensive logs priority.
Than the IP can be found and action taken.

I want to get this into action with someone, I have a big family and alot of them children.
Their must be parents here? against these monsters? than lets do this...make a side project for this.

I agree, if we can find a way to catch pedo's, then people might get off our back about P2P.

These types of acts should be stopped, but we can't stop them 100%. We can only make it harder for them to find this type of content. Take the RIAA, they don't want us to download music, yet we still do. They release versions of songs that are fake and corrupted. We try to stop Pedophiles by setting up a filter and blocking certian keywords. They find a way around by deleting the filtered words, we find a way around the RIAA with verifieds.

How would we know that the IP addresses are being used for what are said? They can be used by anyone who can access the logs. For good and for bad.

I disagree. A Key Logger will give Kazaa Lite a bad name. This is a complete invasion of privacy. How do we know the key logger will only log keywords that are "offensive". It could be logging all of the keywords we search for. I know the K-Lite staff wouldn't do anything like this. But what about others? Could they get access to something like this? Sharmen Networks? RIAA? Anti-Piracy Companies?

I'm not really agreeing with it either, that would be alot of work for a couple of people, mainly because theres so much of this kiddie porn on P2P, but I definately think we should do something about child porn and pedo's.

These things were discussed a while ago on the net,

once you have a logger, someone will put in it words like freedom ecc....

and on the pedos side they could simply rename their stuff into anything else, like "carwash" or "dogfood", or we shall start to call freedom in some other way ???

A secret key logger in klite :blink: that secretly sends information to the klite admins :blink: thats just plain nuts :huh:
I suggest you search and read the other anti-paedophile threads first, that way you won't duplicate ideas (though i don't think anyone ever went as far/daft as a key logger )

Yeah the problem with a hard coded blacklist, or even worse, spy bot, is not what you *think* you might turn up in the short term, it's what could happen in the long term.

Consider that K-Lite follows your suggestion. Some personal privacy group such as the EFF will post a huge story about how the Spyware free "hacked" version of Kazaa now has a Spy bot to catch people looking for child porn, which you define by a set number of keywords, such as those in the filter.

First of all, I would refuse to update. KL++ 2.4.3 works fine for me, and I don't have to worry that if I type in a word on the block list, Big Brother will know about it. Not that I plan on typing in any of *those* words, but imagine this.

K-Lite now has a means to bust people when they download stuff. All RIAA has to do now is give them a long list of illegal file names they have subpoena'd, and force K-Lite to implement that list. What the fuck good is K-Lite now?

Also, another point is that the problem with KP on K-Lite is that, as sick as it sounds, both KP and downloading music/software/movies are both illegal, in the eyes of the law, though they are of very different severities. So for one to go after the other is somewhat hypocritical.

Furthermore, part of the allure of P2P is you can literally get *anything* anyone has on their computer. It's wonderful, for all the good things you can get with it. However, there are probably always going to be people that trade that shit. Luckily, K-Lite comes with very good KP filters. If you don't disable them, you should never see KP in your searches. So in that regard, it's not really "in your face" as it would be with say, Kazaa MD 2.5. I highly doubt Sharman has KP filters; if a pedophile clicks an ad it's just as good as if a movie lover clicked the ad. They want to get everyone on that they can, downloading whatever they want. That's how advertising agencies like Sharman work.

Now before I get flamed for playing devil's advocate, here is my suggestion for fighting online pedophilia. I think first of all America, Europe, and all the big countries need to create a worldwide task force to fight the creation of and trade of KP. This worldwide task force with international authority would then do what the RIAA is doing. They would search out the most popular KP videos, for example by disabling the K-Lite filter, and searching for those terms. They would then download from as many sources as possible, and take out the people that are intentionally sharing it and getting it out there. Once that happens, what has happened with music will happen with KP. People will mostly stop sharing it. Thus, pedophiles will leave p2p and instead use trade networks like Direct Connect, that allow them to more personally interact with their traders.

Just such national task forces have already been organized. And they DO work together internationally -- especially USA, Canada, UK, and Australia.

And MANY pedos are ALREADY using semi-secret password-based trade networks instead of OPEN SHARING networks like fasttrack/gnutella/gnutella2/e-donkey/winmx/etc.

Saying we should ban cars or put more monitoring devices in them because they can EASILY be used to illegally haul illegal goods accross state lines is equally nuts -- but try telling that to lawmakers! They've already gotten on their power trip of total control for OUR protection anyway. :angry:

It would give P2P some slack...I know I deal with the Police in my line of work....if you sratch their backs they will scratch yours.

P2P thus could get a better name...okay it still shares illegal stuff, i.e. games but we wouldnt be slammed as bad like we are......like a porn mad society....it aint like that at all.

Preventing any announamous proxys that these peeps may use also.

I know their is light on the other side..,,it just may take alot of work to find it.
I am VERY KEEN in helping out in this, security fields on ANY P2P network or app, especially you [-Crono-], by the way I e-mailed you and I have like 5MB of space on my host, I can FREE up ALOT more to make at least 12MB.

Its ALL yours if you want....of course I will still be in-control I suppose...it be mine and all LOL....but it would be for the network your making.
