yes, another What.cd question...

Hello all,
Let me preface this by saying I'm not an expert in the slightest when it comes to any of the topics addressed in this forum. I'm simply a person who was invited to join what.cd a year ago and has been loving and appreciating being able to download (probably not the proper term?) an album every once in a while. I was much more of a casual user I guess, only getting a few songs here or there. My ratio was fine and I had no problems. I last got some music a week ago.

Despite that, I've apparently been banned from the site for either inactivity or breaking the rules. I've neither been inactive, nor have I broken any rules. I guess this is the same claim that most banned what.cd users have, but what can you do.

My question is, I know I'm supposed to go to http://irc.what-network.net/ and then join #whatnet on a port. From what I gathered next, I'm supposed to somehow talk to a what.cd administrator (and I hear they're mean and stubborn?) and try to get my account back.

I have no idea how to do any of that. What's a port? I found some instructions in an older thread in this forum:

But I guess I need even more basic instructions because to me, the steps detailed in that post seemed to be missing parts.

So if anyone can help me, I'd sure appreciate it. I realize I've probably written way too much and everyone's most likely rolling their eyes at me, but I just wanted to be thorough in this post. Thanks so much for any help!

Install then go to tools and click chatzilla.

What to type in chatzilla:
1) /server irc.what-network.net
2) /join #what.cd-disabled

Then your in there lol.
